Trials ~ When Our Upsets Become Set-Ups
Have you ever felt like your prayers were going unanswered? Faced with one challenge after another, you might have even wondered, "Am I praying the right way?"
This week at church, we explored Matthew 11:6:
"Blessed is anyone who does not stumble on account of me."
In the midst of trials, have you considered that God may be preparing you, building resilience within? Instead of focusing on "What do I need to do to get God to answer my prayers?" try shifting your perspective to "He is for me and with me." In that quiet surrender, we often find the peace we seek.
In early 2020, when I learned I needed a fourth major surgery, I prayed for financial security. I envisioned exactly how that would unfold. Yet, just eight months later, I lost my job. The wave of anxiety and fear that followed was overwhelming. But I knew fear could not coexist with faith. I held on to the belief that God orchestrates everything for our good. I reminded myself that His perspective is eternal, encompassing far more than I could see.
If you're in the midst of your own trials right now, pause and look for the subtle signs God may be sending you. Whether they appear in nature, through numbers, in dreams, or during quiet moments with Him—His messages are always there. Don’t let your faith waver in the face of difficulty.
Looking back, I can see that even in my hardest moments, God was at work. He gives us what we need, though it might not always align with what we want. My journey was filled with challenges, but I learned to trust His whispers. I stepped into situations that felt far beyond my capacity, yet I held firm to the belief that He never gives us more than we can bear. Through Him, everything truly is possible.
So, if you’re feeling the weight of trials right now, remember: your upsets may be the very moments where God is strengthening and shaping you. When you reflect, you’ll see—they were your set-ups all along.
