Shake off the Old Dirt
As someone who trusts in Spirit Animal Signs from God, I’m always on alert, when nature sends a message. On my morning prayer walk, a ritual I cherish for connecting with my higher self, an earthworm caught my eye on the path. I stepped around it, but something made me stop. My partner noticed my hesitation. “We should move the earthworm,” I suggested. Without hesitation, he bent down, gently scooping the worm and placing it safely back into the grass. The earthworm wriggled with life, quickly burrowing into the soft, dewy earth.
It's easy to step over a nature sign or dismiss its significance, but God had another message for me. Later, during my beach walk, I spotted rocks covered with mollusks, their spiny shells gripping tightly. It was the perfect spot to film Flow, the meditation and movement practice I teach. As the waves ebbed and flowed, and the crisp morning air filled my lungs, I immersed myself in the movements. The slippery rocks beneath my feet reminded me of the mollusks’ stronghold. Then, out of the corner of my eye, I saw movement—black, glossy threads wriggling between the shells. “Another worm sign!” I thought.
Nature doesn’t send signs by accident. Later that day, I was drawn to explore the messages. The earthworm challenges us to dig deep for truth, and to stay grounded on our journey. It reminds us that shaking off the dirt of the past is crucial to move forward. “Put down your roots, then grow your vision,” it whispers.
Being spiritually grounded helps us shake off negativity and align with our Greater Purpose. Throughout the week, I faced a moment that tested my resolve. I grounded myself, spoke up, and remained unshaken. Speaking up has been a journey of recoding past narratives. A step-by-step awakening to not feel invisible, unimportant, or submissive. A path I encourage and guide others to walk, showing up in their authentic skin, ablaze with an aura that alchemizes their frequency.
If you’re searching for balance or seeking a stronger voice on your path, be open to the signs around you.
And remember this grounding Psalm:
Ps 16:1-2, 5, 8 “Keep me safe, my God, for in you I take refuge. I say to the Lord, 'You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing.'” “Lord, you alone are my portion and my cup; you make my lot secure.” “I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With him at my right hand, I will not be shaken.”
